The DB AG purchased 26 of the two-unit, diesel-mechanically driven Talent especially for use between Germany and the Netherlands. All vehicles have an Automatic Train Protection system (ATP) for use on the NS network and are pre-equipped in Aachen for operation in accordance with BOStrab. The railcars should in future be used on a line into the city centre of Aachen and for this purpose have stronger brakes, indicators and a rearview mirror. The cross-border network is marketed under the name „Euregiobahn“.
