In 1932, the DRG changed their numbering system and differentiated from then on between electric railcars "elT" and the appertaining control cars "elS". The "Rübezahl" cars previously designated as "Breslau 511 - 521" were now renumbered into "elT 1011 - 1019". At the same time, a new colour concept for railcars was introduced that was intended to apply to the entire imperial territory in the future. Previously, the railcars of all electric sub-networks had had different colourings. Newly used colour shades were wine-red and ivory, ensuring considerably better visibility and traffic advertising.
