Of the 125 engines of class Fc delivered to Württemberg, 65 were taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft and reclassified as series 53.8. The Prussian engines were produced in large numbers and soon made advances in south-west German depots, but decreasing demand due to the worldwide economic crisis quickly depleted the stock. The last locomotives of the BR 53.8 were decommissioned and disassembled at the end of the 1920s. They also included 53 850, which did service in Rottweil.
