The Deutsche Reichsbahn’s streamlined locomotives were painted in anthracite grey from the end of 1940 onwards. This regulation mainly affected the new deliveries of 01.10 and 03.10 series locomotives, though it also stipulated that existing locomotives had to be repainted.
