The Deutsche Reichsbahn of the GDR was not able to dispense with its remaining T 11 after 1945. In addition to shunting duties, it was also used for trains on branch lines. One of these locomotives was 74 311, which belonged to the Erfurt P depot and was used by the Straußfurt locomotive station. It was decommissioned in 1961.
