In Saxony, waste water from the cities of Chemnitz, Dresden and Leipzig were also used to fertilise the fields in the of the Leipzig basin. For this the Sächsische Saatsbahn also added latrine cars as private cars to its fleet of vehicles, which were used by the public utilities of the cities.
