The Bayerische Eisenbahnverwaltung ordered numerous covered cars according to sample sheet A2 – in 1913 1429 of them were already in use. However, the agreed red-brown livery was not used immediately. Bavaria painted its cars green with light green wheelsets. For marking, Bavaria anticipated the later DRG and from 1910 coined the term “Gattungsbezirks” or “Grouping”. All cars built according to the standards of the Staatsbahnwagen-Verband were allocated to the “München” grouping.
