From 1904 onwards, the K.W.St.E. (Königlich Württembergische Staats-Eisenbahnen) purchased a great many of these third class coaches. They had the same proven dimensions and layout as the predecessor design. However, the small double windows on the predecessor model were replaced by large paned windows. Between 1904 and 1907, Esslingen, Rastatt and Fuchs in Heidelberg delivered a total of 325 of these coaches, which were very modern in their day.
