Even after the occupation of Poland, management was treated separately by the DR. The “Generaldirektion der Ostbahn (Gedob)” was responsible here, whereas “old German” territories were administered by the Reichsbahn divisions of Pozna´n, Opole and Gdansk. Even after occupation, new “Pike cars” were built and delivered both to the Ostbahn and directly to the DR. More than 400 of the C4ü were allocated to the stock and used especially in the divisions of Berlin, Breslau, Gdansk, Pozna´n and Opole – frequently with a 19.1 (BRAWA models 40400 to 40403) at the front of the train.
