Initially, the 142-numbered locomotives employed in Switzerland kept their old paint coating received from the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) which did not look very favourably in combination with the newly installed components of the electric brake. It was very soon detected, however, that the locomotives were ideal advertising vehicles. In addition to the advertisement for enterprises and products, tourist associations as well discovered locomotives as objects for their messages. The locomotive Ae 477 910 named "Vreny" advertises the Schlattli - Stoos cableway in the canton Schwyz.
