They have excellent slow running properties and realistic top speeds. Technical refinements such as sound generators – and smoke generators in steam locomotives – round off the railway experience.

Excellent materials and fine craftsmanship guarantee the firstrate quality of BRAWA models. Most of the locomotives are made of die-cast zinc, which offers advantages relating to weight and robustness. The lamp holders are made entirely of brass or etched steel plate to maximise their durability. The light bulbs also have an extremely long life expectancy.

Dedication to detail affects every stage of production

Every new product that we develop reflects our commitment to creating a perfect replica. That‘s why our model development projects always start out with meticulous research. We scour museums and private archives, measure and photograph the details of the originals and study construction plans and photographs. The product development phase doesn‘t commence until we‘ve done all that. First of all, construction plans are created in CAD and compared with the original.

Then, die-casting or injection moulding tools are produced, as well as dummies and prototypes. These tools are subjected to comprehensive test series to assess their technical properties in Remshalden. Parallel to this, the tools are further improved to ensure optimum running properties and the perfect reproduction of visual details. Then, series production commences, followed by the hand-crafting of the details.
